MELSS in the past 17 years have been selling and supporting Weighing solutions to Sugar, Ferro Alloy, Cattle Feeds, Steel, Chemical, Plastics, Tea and many other industries. MELSS experience is not limited to Lorry / Cart Weighing but also extends to some demanding process weighing applications like Batching, Material handling and Check Weighing.

Our experiences in demanding applications like 24 Cane Lorry / Cart weighing in sugar industry and 24 hour continuous Batch Weighing in Cattle feed industry have pushed us hard to create some very innovative and ingenious hardware and software features.

This has contributed tremendously to the insights and in-depth knowledge we have developed in the areas of mechanical design, weighing instrumentation, software and maintenance.

Fully Electronic Weigh Bridge


A fully electronic weighbridge is a weigh bridge where the mechanical structure (pre-fabricated) is mounted on 4/6/8 Load cells.

The Load cell is nothing but a transducer, which converts Mechanical stress and force into Measurable electrical signals. The load cell consists of Strain gauges.

The number of Strain Gauges built inside the load cell varies for different type of load cell. For e.g. The S type load cell consists of 2 Stain gauges, the Compression type load cell consists of 4 Strain Gauges and the Shear-beam load cell consists of 8 Strain Gauges.

The Outer body of a load cell is built with Special Tool alloy steel and sealed according to IP68 classification for dustproof operation. The Average normal life of a load cell is measured in terms of million cycles of operation, which translates into a life of more than 10years.

The most recent development in load cell is the Double ended Shear beam Type of Load cell with 8 Strain gauges built inside for better accuracy, reliability and overall efficiency. The load cell supplied by M/s Sensortronics also comes with an In-built Lightening protection feature, which will protect the load cell from any surges or lightening.

The Fully Electronic weighbridge offers a very high Degree of Accuracy and reliability because of the nature of technology used. The Maintenance for Electronic weighbridge is virtually nil, because there is no moving part in the system. The structure is either fully welded or bolted and welded.

Since there is no maintenance involved, the weighbridge offers a very consistent and accurate performance over a period of time without any escalation of cost.

The Fully Electronic Weighbridge also comes with PIT TYPE of construction and PITLESS TYPE of civil construction. The PITLESS type is very advantageous because it offers very less civil cost and also the PITLESS does not require any drainage facilities
