         George Town Heritage Celebrations
         July 7-9, George Town, Penang
The Heritage Celebrations is a yearly event to
commemorate the inscription of George Town as a
UNESCO World Heritage Site which happened on July 7,
2008. For two days each year, the audience are allowed
intimate access to the living traditions of George Town as
the communities open their hearts and homes to locals
         and visitors alike.
Since 2014, the celebrations have been curated around
specific cultural themes, including crafts, festive foods,
and traditional games and sports. This year, the Heritage
Celebrations have been crafted around a near-invisible, yet
highly important, aspect of culture: Oral Traditions and
         Expressions.
