Childhood
aspirations begin to form
early in a child’s life, but change over
time due to their environment and life
experiences. The early years are a prime
time in the formation and development
of these aspirations and the Nestlé NAN
Grow 3 SUPER KIDS contest gave parents
the opportunity to support their child in
realising their aspirations.
Among the hundreds of submissions,
six lucky winners were selected. Six-
year-old Nurzulaikha Amni binti Suhasri
and Koo Min Qi won an afternoon to
create their own artistic masterpiece with
renowned Penang-based artist, Ernest
Zacharevic, while Nur Aleesya Naurah
binti Azazam and Chloe Tan Yi Rou, both
aged four won the cookout contest with a
Wondermama chef at their restaurant in
Bangsar Village.
Earlier this month, six-year-old Umar
Husayn bin Hamsafar and Dhev Aditya
Doshi, aged five, were recruited by
Nestlé NAN Grow 3 SUPER KIDS Talent
Recruitment Manager, Adibah Noor to
report as pilots in training to Firefly
Airlines at Subang airport.
Both Umar and Dhev were selected for
their relevant flight experience. Umar’s
mum, Zety Marlia Zainal Abiden, proudly
noted on his application that he had
logged numerous hours “making airplane
sounds” and still vividly remembers his
last flight simulation experience, which
he recalls everyday.
Meanwhile, Dhev, who owns a fleet
of self-made airplanes, was selected due
to his extensive knowledge of countries
and capitals of the world. Dhev’s mother,
Vandana, remarked: “For me, the first
1500 days of a child’s life is crucial. I left
my job to raise Dhev and I believe as a
mum I should be there to support him. His
confidence is growing and I play my role
by ensuring he has a balanced and healthy
diet to support his ambitious goals.”
CaptainAriff, Head of Flight Operations
with over 20 years of flight experience
briefed the two budding pilots in the Flight
Control Room on flight paths and weather
conditions before escorting the winners
onto the tarmac to board the aircraft
for a cockpit briefing. Umar and Dhev
learnt how the plane is flown, its safety
procedures, and the on-board duties of all
the crew members.
Ignatius Ong, CEO, Firefly Airlines
said, “It’s an honour to welcome Umar
and Dhev as our SUPER pilots-in-training
for the day. We are proud to be part of the
Nestlé NAN Grow 3 SUPER KIDS contest
as it encourages parents to give their child
the opportunity to think big and follow
their dreams.”
“It has been a wonderful experience
for all. I would like to extend my thanks
to Firefly, Wondermama and Ernest
for their support in making our SUPER
KIDS’ dreams come true. I am sure they
will leave with fond memories that will
support their future aspirations. The
Nestlé NAN Grow 3 SUPER KIDS contest
is truly a testament to that belief as it gives
children the opportunity to explore, follow
their passion and think big regardless of
their age,” said Chandan Ghosh, Country
Business Manager, Maternal and Infant
Nutrition at Nestlé Malaysia.
