What are your responsibilities as a
Firefly Captain?
I have overall responsibility for the safe
and efficient operation of the aircraft,
together with the safety of the crewand
our valued passengers. I must check the
airworthiness of the aircraft, weather fac-
tors, flight regulations, Air Traffic Control
procedures and I alwaysmake full use of
air navigational aids to providemaximum
safety in the air and on the ground for
every flight.
Canyou tell us a littlemore about
your background?
I am fromLondon. I previously had a suc-
cessful career with Thomas Cook Group
Treasury, then in the International Forex
markets including postings in London,
Frankfurt and Tokyo. I subsequently
started flying in 1988. InDecember 1990,
I helped to deliver a small Cessna aircraft
fromLondon via Scotland/Iceland/Green-

was a fantastic but very cold experience!
