BDB To Hold Inaugural

announced today that
it will be holding its
inaugural BDB Firefly Golf
tournament at Darula-
manGolf and Country Club (DGCC), Jitra,
Kedah onNov 26, 2016.
According to BDBGroupManaging
Director, Datuk IzhamYusoff, the event -
jointly organisedwith Firefly - is an open
category tournament. It is expected to not
only attract the professionals but also the
rising stars fromMalaysia and around the
region.
“BDB as an organiser is confident with
the participation of professional and
amateur golfers inMalaysia andwe hope
that it can help raise the standards of
Malaysian golfers through the involve-
ment of Malaysians in the field.”
“In addition, we also aimto promote
DGCC, which is one of the best courses in
Northern Region, and Kedah as awhole,
not just as a golf destination but also its
rich heritage and diversity in conjunction
withDiscover Kedah 2016,” said Izham
during a press conference today.
The tournament will offer prizes
totaling up to RM1million and the first
player to score aHole-in-Onewill win a
two-storey bungalowat Bandar Darula-
manworth RM800,000, sponsored by
BDB Land Sdn Bhd.

“We hope that this event will make a
huge impact towards the development
of sports tourism in Kedah andwemay
consider BDB Firefly Golf Tournament as a
yearly calendar event for DGCC in the near
future,” added Izham.
Firefly’s Chief Executive Officer Ignatius
Ong said that it was a perfect partnership
that would trigger interest among golfers
and holidaymakers fromall over.
“Firefly is truly honoured to be a part of
this exciting event andwe look forward
tomanymore collaborations in the near
future,” he said.
Thewinner and runner up of the
tournament will receive a return air ticket,
golfing package of 3 days 2 nights to any
domestic or international Firefly routes.
The third placewinner will receive two
tickets to any Firefly domestic destination.
DGCC also has come out with special
practise round and hotel packages to give
the players the opportunity to experience
themagic of Jitra.
BDBHotels packages, designedwith
golfers inmind, is offering a special pack-
age of RM98 per room/per night including
nutritious breakfast while the practise
round package is at RM50 per person.
