Established in 1921, ColiseumCafe&
Grill is one of the oldest restaurants in
the country. It is one of the city’s colonial
heritages. The use of old furniture and
decorativememorabilia creates a
wonderful nostalgic feeling. Everything
was preserved fromwhen it was first
opened in the 1920s. As for themenu,
the restaurantmainly serves western
favourites like steak and pasta alongwith
local fare like noodles and rice.
For nasi kandar lovers, there is Restoran
Insaf which is known for its spicy chicken
and biryani rice alongwith the popular
mango juice. The restaurant can be very
busy during lunch hours and sometimes
there is a queue to get a table. The price
might be slightlymore expensive com-
pared to other IndianMuslimrestaurants,
but it is definitely worth it. Even after all
these years, the restaurant hasmanaged
tomaintain the food quality and speedy
service that it has always been known for.
