Working in the aviation industry requires good crisis management skills. With flights being
rescheduled and cancelled due to unavoidable circumstances like the weather, someone like
Hazamie Hassan who is the Executive Pre & Post Department (PPD) is the one who ensures
that the situation is under control and that the passengers affected are always well informed
and taken care of. Hazamie discusses his role in Firefly and the importance of teamwork in
getting his daily tasks done.
What are your responsibilities as
anExecutivePre&PostDepart-
ment (PPD)?
Mymain role is tomanage the preflight
team fromthe Distribution department.
There are nine staff inmy department,
including a supervisor who leads the team
whenever I amnot around. As a teamwe
assist with passenger reallocation and
notifications in the event of flights being
rescheduled as well as cancellations from
theNetwork&Schedule Team (NS).
I also liaisewith other departments
regarding any issues related to payment,
flight cancellations and rescheduling, as
well as codeshare passengers withMAB,
among others. I prepare the roster for
my teamand attend to administrative
matters such as filing of documents and
making sure that all PPDofficers perform
their duties in accordance to the airline’s
Code of Conduct as well as Standard
Operating Policies &Procedures.

your background?
I was born inMentakab, Pahang.My
parents are fromKelantan and have their
own food business which they started 25
years ago in Raub and Karak, Pahang. I
receivedmy early education in Raub, Pa-
hang up to STPM level before I furthered
my studies at University Tun Abdul Razak
in Bachelor of HospitalityManagement
(Hotel Major) between 2007 and 2009.
