about their longevity, friendship andmusic.
Thai Infusion
How did you guys get together initially?
Foet (Karinyawat Durongjirakan) and Gak (Atirath Pintong)
were friends since high school. Vit (Janevit Chanpanyawon)
and Auto (Settharat Phangchunan) hooked up with the band
after they graduated from university. We did our own things
for a while but finally came together as a band after six years.
You have been around for 10 years. How has your music
changed in that time?
The past 10 years has taught us many things. Our techniques in
playing, singing and creating music has grown over the years.
We also want to create a unique experience in every albumwe
release, so we have to continuously improve ourselves to reach
this goal. And now, with our first English album, we are proud
to show everyone how versatile we are.
A lot of bands break up in less time that you have been
together. How have you guys managed to stick together?
We have found that respecting each other’s opinions, being
considerate of each other’s space and really listening to one
another has brought us a lot
closer. We also have great
personnel chemistry. We joke
around with each other a
lot and that also brings us
closer together as brothers.
The moment we are on stage,
it’s just our bond and trust
that we have for each other
to push us through. This is
unquestionably the best part
of being together.
Musically, who has inspired
or continues to inspire the
group?
We would have to say The
Beatles. We really like what
they accomplished musically.
They were progressive and

inspiring. Besides, how they
presented each band member
as an equal is what we try to
do as well.
Tell us about your new, all-
English album.
After five Thai albums, we
had talks with the label on
how to share our music with
the world. We all felt it was
the right time to cut an Eng-
lish album; we were ready.
Later on, we were introduced
to Grammy Award winning
producer Steve Lillywhite
when he was invited to Bang-
kok by the label. We talked
with Steve for a while and
invited him to hear us play.
