Tonkatsu
is one
of them. This “western style” Japanese
food is deep-fried pork cutlets with
served with sides of rice, pickle and soup.
At Tonkatsu by Ma Maison, this signature
dish is cooked perfectly using only the
finest meat.
The atmosphere at Tonkatsu by Ma
Maison is very welcoming. It is one of
those restaurants that does not look too
intimidating to walk into. The walls are
adorned with Japanese calligraphy art
and light bulbs hang on wires freely
from the ceiling, providing ample light
throughout the space. The waiters are
friendly and the service is excellent.

of minutes after ordering.
Let’s Begin
The starter gave us a preview of what
was to come from the glassed in kitchen.
The potato salad starter was served
chilled with a generous mixture of soft
boiled potatoes that melt in your mouth,
shredded vegetables and cream. Their
chicken wings are fried Japanese-style,
covered in soy sauce. You can take each
bite accompanied by crunchy shaved
cabbage that comes with it. It makes
