times. Thanks to MaTiC
(Malaysia Tourism Cen-
tre), tourists in Malaysia
have a welcoming space
that they can visit for
localised information and an all round
cultural experience.
The MaTiC building officially opened
its doors on Sept 5, 1990. Located in Jalan
Ampang, Kuala Lumpur, the building was
built in 1935 by a Chinese businessman,
Eu Tong Sen as his place of residence. It
was known as the Tunku Abdul Rahman
Building briefly before being turned into
a tourism complex for information and
cultural exchange.
After 25 years, MaTiC maintains
its role as a go-to tourism information
centre and an iconic building not only for
culture, entertainment, tourism as well as
corporate events and gatherings, offering
ample space and facilities.
Tunku Abdul Rahman Auditorium
The auditorium was the venue for
Malaysia’s first Parliament Assembly
in 1958. Today, it is a perfect venue
for cultural performances as well as
corporate seminars that seats 400 people.
At RM400 per hour, it includes a PA
system, media players, lighting system
and a VIP room.
Mini Auditorium
The space is suitable for all types of
performances as well as press conferences
and seminars. It is open for public
bookings at RM150 per hour, RM600 for
four hours or RM1,100 for eight hours. It
can accommodate 150 people per event
and is equipped with basic facilities such
as audio visual and lighting equipment.
Amphitheatre
With an open stage and comfortable
seats, the amphitheatre is the best venue
for cultural performances, stage plays and
product launches. It comes with basic
facilities like a public address system and
MaTiC offersmore than just a space for lost travellers.

Audio Visual Room
The audio visual room at MaTiC is meant
for meetings or press conferences with
facilities for 80 to a 100 attendees. It can
be converted into a theatre or classroom
and has basic audio visual equipment
and other facilities. The rental is from
RM150 per hour.
Lanai MaTiC
This open space caters to sporting events
or even garden weddings and the facilities
include restrooms and a multi-purpose
room. Rental is from RM210 per hour,
inclusive of an open stage.
Mini Studio
With mirrored walls the mini studio is
fully equipped to fit 30 people for dance
practices and auditions. At RM30 per hour
rental, it is the training spot of choice
among local performers.
