Firefly’s Head of Engineering, Azmi Jusoh discusses his role inmaintaining the technical
aspects of each flight before take-off.

pursue Aircraft Maintenance Engineer-
ing Training in United Kingdom where
he obtained his Aircraft Maintenance
Engineer’s Licence. Upon joining Firefly
as the Manager of Engineering Quality
Assurance, it did not take too long before
he was promoted to his current position
owing to his strong background and
experience.
“As the Head of Engineering, I play
the role of maintaining the serviceability,
safety and airworthiness of Firefly aircraft

times, we only acknowl-
edge the role of the pilot
who navigates the plane
that takes us to our destination. What
about those behind the scene that help to
ensure the machine is in flawless working
condition? We might not notice it but the
role that they play is just as significant.
Azmi Jusoh, the Head of Engineering
for Firefly Airlines has been holding the
position for six years now. Hailing from the
instance the Flight &Ground Operations to
achieve on-time performance and techni-
cal dispatch reliability. Being the head of
the department, I am required to report
directly to our CEOMr. Ignatius Ong,” says
Azmi sharing his technical role in Firefly.
Even though it is a job behind-the-
scene, to become a skillful engineer like
Azmi, one needs to obtain a certain level
of skills through both training and experi-
ence. For those who are inspired to start
a career in aircraft maintenance, it will
take about five years of knowledge and
skill-based training before getting to the
