in the middle of
bustling Kuala Lumpur,
glistening beneath the
Malaysian sun, you’ll
find the world renowned
Petronas Twin Towers. A
national monument that
has KLites puffed upwith pride at the very
thought of it. It is 452m above street level,
88-storeys high and this beautiful piece of
architecture is every bit as magnificent
as it looks.
The towers feature wall-to-wall glass
fixtures, an astounding 55,000 glass
panels to be exact. And what better way
to hold up the all-glass-everything than
33,000 pieces of solid stainless steel. An
architectural wonder known as Vision
Glass was used that filters out harsh
lighting while cutting out the noisy city,
allowing for a serene inside.
So what do the towers hold for those
who visit them? Apart from the obvious
aesthetic qualities, this national monu-
ment plays host to wonders. The towers
will have you feeling on top of the world,
or at least on top of Kuala Lumpur, while
you could also find yourself, shopping at
Suria KLCC, lounging at the KLCC Park,
talking fishy at the KLCC Aquaria or
working at the Kuala Lumpur Convention
Centre.
How do you get to the towers? The
transportation system in the city centre is
very dependable. So get on the KL Hop-on
Hop-off bus which will drop you right at
the towers or just take the LRT. It’s an
underground line and all you have to do
is get off at the KLCC station.
Though there are many hotels around,
be prepared to pay top dollar to wake up
next to the sparkly Twin Towers. There
are also plenty of budget hotels around
Chinatown that would give you the best of
the towers while not breaking your bank.
Be prepared to spend a whole day
basking in the luxury and magnitude of
the Petronas Towers. The shopping mall,
Suria KLCC, is a shopaholic’s dream come
true. The mall is a premier retail destina-
tion, offering a wide array of items, goods
and services. They’ve got it all, from high
end fashion to astounding works of art,
Malaysian eats to international gourmets.
Excitement smacks you straight in the
face when you take a step in, you’ll lose
