brilliant idea for those
who need a little es-
cape from the city’s
demanding and not
to mention, ‘draining’
lifestyle. It’s good to
trade the dusty road and neon lights for
a little bit of green and sunlight. And the
best place to go for a quick vacation has
got to be the beach.
For a day trip, consider a realistic
destination like the historical town of
Malacca (if beach is not really your
thing), the beach of Port Dickson or
Sunway Lagoon (if you do not mind the
man-made beach). Although some people
think that Port Dickson is not the most
beautiful beach in Malaysia but for a day
trip with minimal budget, it is not so bad.
The whole point of having a day trip is
so that you do not have to be bothered
with the whole booking of a hotel room
or plane tickets process and the filling
up of leave application. You can always
go on weekends but Saturday is the best
because you definitely need Sunday to
prepare for the Monday blues. Other than
that it is really cheap and it can be like a
little teaser before that Bali or Bangkok
trip that you have already planned for
December.
Here is how to make the most of a day
trip to the beach:
Have the most fun
Go with a bunch of fun people. The
trick is to have two or three close friends
bringing along their other friends. So not
only you will have a good time, you get
to know people outside of your circle of
friends as well. You just need to trust
your friends to bring along someone nice,
witty, fun to be with and definitely no
party poopers should be allowed.
Do not get too ambitious with
the planning and arrangements
Keep everything simple and bring only
the essentials because you need to make
the most out of the space inside your car.
So, leave behind the barbeque set and
sand-castle building kit. The laptop is not
coming with you either. Grab some KFC or
McDonalds on your way to the destination
instead and forget about the iPod because
the only electronics that you need is your
phone camera to Instagram the moments.
Go with the flow
Mandatory games or group activities are
not always as fun as you thought they
would be. Everybody just want to have
fun, why should we restrict ourselves
and have planned activities like we were
in a school trip? Be silly and just breathe
in the moment instead. Do not forget to
take photos, go crazy in the water, build
sand-castles and watch the sunset. Be
spontaneous.
Day trip is fun if you managed to get
a really good crowd of people together.
With minimal amount of planning and
money involved, you will be surprised
by how good it will make you feel. You
wouldwant to go again and again. Always
remember to apply sunscreen.
