. Yes , how
exceedingly quaint
indeed, were my first
thoughts upon driving
into the narrow, one-
vehicle lane flanked
by a curious wall of
bricks and a rubber plantation leading to
the entrance of the Sunset Valley Holiday
Houses resort. Nary a 15-minute drive
from Langkawi Airport, this charming
little collection of six antique kampung

may feel transported to a time that only
aged historical novels can capture, and for
some others, it is an imaginary journey to
the time of our forefathers, where things

manual labour, of course.
