Wash
No
matter how short your flight, take a
toothbrush and a small towel so you can
freshen up before you land. Brushing your
teeth andwashing your face canmake you
feel and look fresher, impressing whoever
is there to meet you and avoid any bad
breath issues.
Move
Try
to get up and walk around dur-
ing the flight, as sitting still for long
periods of time can put you at risk of
deep vein thrombosis and will make you
feel lethargic and sluggish. Get the blood
moving with a few simple stretches before
disembarking and you will be amazed at
how much more awake you feel!
Drink
The
air conditioning system used on
planes tends to dehydrate so make sure
you drink plenty of water before you board
and throughout the journey. Steer clear of
alcohol and caffeinated drinks such as a
tea or coffee, as these will only dehydrate
you more.
Eat
If
you are flying across time zones, adjust
your timing as soon as soon as you get
on the plane and have your meals at the
same time you would at your destination.
Avoid heavy, carbohydrate-ladenmeals on
board as these will make you feel tired and
bloated. Pick higher protein options from
the menu for a boost of energy.
