MASwings and Firefly Continues
Cabin Crew Integration
Programme
In welcoming the spirit of Hari Ke-
merdekaan and Hari Malaysia, MASwings
and Firefly launched the Cabin Crew
Integration Programme for the second year
as part of a continuous effort to strengthen
the Groups’ ambition of greater national
integration. This colourful programmewill
feature 10MASwings cabin crew fromEast
Malaysia flying alongside Firefly crew on
flights around Peninsular Malaysia, and
vice versa for another 10 Firefly cabin crew
to be integrated into MASwings’ flights
and routes.
MASwings CEO, Captain Ritzerwan
Rashid was delighted at the continuation
of this initiative, “This initiative gives us
a great opportunity to lend our support
as Malaysia Airlines Group. Our cabin
crew are very excited to be doing this
again. Besides being able to showcase the
different brands in the Group, our cabin
crew are also able to learn the operational
differences in both airlines. The integration
is also a reflection of the harmonious
workforce that we have in the Group.”
“The first cabin crew exchange pro-
gramme held in 2013 was a success.
Passengers on both airlines were exposed
to the different brand identities each airline
embodies. Our staff were also exposed to
the diverse cultures within eachMalaysian
state. We are glad that we are able to
conduct this programme once again as
we intend to strengthen bonds within
our Malaysia Airlines Group and join the
Nation in celebratingMerdekawith amore
colourful and patriotic spirit in this trying
time,” said Firefly CEO, Ignatius Ong in
echoing the sentiment.
“This is a fantastic platform for Firefly
and MASwings as true responsible corpo-
rate citizens to showcase the diversity of
Malaysia and yet concurrently display-
ing our togetherness that us Malaysians
whether we are fromPeninsular or Borneo
side are closely knitted into the fabric
of this marvellous society. I am proud
to stand here today not just as a fam-
ily member of Firefly, but a full blooded
Malaysian doing our part instilling this
unity trait for all Malaysians and tourists
here to witness,” he added.
All 20 cabin crew assigned for this
exciting programme have been sent for
training to equip and prepare them with
the differences in operation and services
of the respective carriers. This further
benefits both airlines’ cabin crew knowl-
edge and credibility as they are given the
opportunity to experience other carrier,
as well as the colourful diversity between
states that is the core of Malaysia.
